In an effort to help both teachers and parents find
fun and creative environmental activities to use to educate their children, Ashley Rubio our Environmental Education Specialist
has created several fun projects for you to use. As always, should you want her to come to your class to work with your students
she will make every effort to assist you. We felt this was a way for teachers and parents alike to enjoy these activities
with their students and children at their leisure. Mrs. Rubio will continue to add to these project as she develops them

Here is an activity that all children will enjoy,
especially those who like wildlife. In this activity children (with the help of an adult) use recycled milk containers to
make a bird feeder and nesting box. Click on the link below to see the activity along with a list of materials needed to create

to garden and cook? Then this is the project for them! Using an old can your child can create an attractive herb garden with
plants that can grow all season long.

Include Fido into your art and recycling projects.
Using a well rinsed laundry detergent bottle your child can create the perfect food scoop and decorate it just the way your
family pet would like it best!

to keep but the just keep ending up on the floor or in the way? With this activity your child will create beautiful magazine
holders using recycled cereal boxes and their own artistic talent.
